Workshops & Lessons

Zafira teaches in different locations in Amsterdam and at the "Vrije Universiteit" Cultural Center and ,Haarlem and Heemstede. For information about the workshops check on the Bellydancing.nl agenda.

For a different sort of workshop, Zafira gives special workshops for Bride's Party's, a great way to surprise friends and the bride. In the workshop, special attention is given to the bride (attributes such as hip shawls and costume are included in price), the basic techniques of the dance are given and a short choreography learnt. Light refreshments and middle-eastern snacks are served. At the end there is a performance by Zafira. In Amsterdam these workshops are held in a beautiful studio (studio singel) and are a lot of fun and a great way to surprise the bride.

These workshops can also be tailored for corporate events and other special ocassions (throughout the Netherlands etc).

Oriental Bellydance Course on Mondays

Beginners class to Start soon

Every lesson begins with a warm up and ends with a cooling down.

In the lesson we learn different techniques (from undulations accents and shimmys) music interpretation choreography,expression and the joy of danceing solo and in groups the styles that are taught will be Egyptian(Beledi,Saidi,and classic Raks Sharqi)also Lebanese,and Turkish(9/8 Rom rythem)

20,15-21,30 Intermediate & Advanced

In this lesson more advanced techniques will be taught layering on what has been taught in the beginners there will be attributes such as veil/veils, saidi stick dance, zills and deepening the knowledge of different rythems.ending in the the build up of your own choreography.

Production Group

This group is for the very advanced who wants to devlop there own style and work togther on an end production that will be shown in a theatre giveing the chance for those who want to preform to do so(it is not obligatory).

€ 172,50 for the course of 15 Lessons (If you follow 2 lessons per week the cost is 300 euro for 30 lessons)payment can be made in 2/3 installments.

For a drop in class the cost is 13,50 euro to be paid at the beginning of the lesson

American Tribal Style & Tribal Fusion Course

Thursday Evening

18.30-19.45

The lesson begins with a good yoga based warm up with attention given to isolations,drills and layering,the lesson is mostley based on the stlye of FCBD useing improvisation and cues in a group(with and with out zills).

In Tribal Fusion there is more emphesis on layering, strong isolations and floor work(some advanced) use of attributes such as sword and zills will be taught

you learn variations on the basic technique, shimmys, undulations and movements. Choreography and self and group improvisation in the Egyptian Style (raks-sharki,baladi, saaidi), Lebanese Style and Turkish Style.
